CARY KROSINSKY

Cary is a leading educator, author and advisor on the nexus of business, sustainable investment strategy and financial value.

In this capacity, he teaches at Yale College including a College Seminar on Business & Sustainability during the fall of 2014 and 2015, and an upcoming Innovation and Sustainability seminar during fall 2016.  Graduate level involvements include co-teaching on Climate and International Energy in 2015 and 2016 within the Yale Climate & Energy Institute.

He recently collaborated with the Brown Investment Office to co-teach “The Theory and Practice of Sustainable Investing,” leading to the creation the Brown University Sustainable Investment Fund now launched within the Brown Endowment.  He also teaches MBA classes on environmental investing and sustainability at Concordia University (Montreal) and the University of Maryland and previously designed and helped lead the RFK Sustainable Investing program for $15 Trillion of asset owners at Columbia’s Earth Institute for Kerry Kennedy’s RFK Center for Justice and Human Rights.

Later in 2016, Cary will publish Sustainable Investing: Revolutions in Theory and Practice (Taylor & Francis, 2016), a prospective look at the future of investing. His previous books include Sustainable Investing: The Art of Long Term Performance (Earthscan, 2008) and Evolutions in Sustainable Investing(Wiley, 2011).

He has actively consulted with the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) and the UNEP Inquiry for the Design of a Sustainable Financial System in 2015, most recently writing five papers including the development of a Framework for Asset Owner Strategy on Climate Change, released during COP 21 in Paris.  Cary also helped develop the Value Driver Model body of work in late 2013 for the UN Global Compact including a paper, case studies and toolkit, and was co-author in 2014 of A New Vision of Value for KPMG and also advised on investor reporting to the University of Cambridge’s Investment Leaders Group.

Ongoing engagements include appointments with the Network for Sustainable Financial Markets, theJournal of Environmental Investing, dMass, NPV Associates, RLP Wealth Advisors and Wilshire Associates.  Cary is also Director and Co-Founder of the Carbon Tracker Initiative.
